Hitachi C10FSH

I am going to give this Hitachi Miter Saw a Five Star because of it ‘ s quality and performance. A friend let me use his Hitachi miter saw to do a hardwood floor job. I liked it so much, I ordered me a new one. The new saw had improvements, such as, laser, dust catcher, etc. I noticed that the new saw was not a noisy as the older one. Laser was perfect out of the box but I played with it ‘ s adjustment, then put it back to it ‘ s mark with ease. I looked at other chop saws but I especially like the slide bar on this saw, it gives you the capacity to cut 12 ” boards. A chop saw can only cut an 8 ” board, that ‘ s with a 12 ” blade, maximum. Well anyway if you are looking for a great miter saw this is the one. This saw will go through many climate changes up here, I believe it will handle them all, with ease.

I researched compound miter saws for one to use in building furniture in my home shop and had pretty much narrowed it down to this Hitachi and a Bosch with similar features. I checked with my son and some of his co – workers at a nationally known custom mill shop in Memphis and they said the Hitachi is a top of the line slider. It was also a little less expensive than the Bosch. This saw seems a little heavy to be wagging around to job sites but since I will be permanently mounting it on a bench in my shop the weight is actually a plus to me. It ‘ s easy to set up and the stops and the laser are easy to adjust.

Hitachi C10FSH 10-Inch Sliding Compound Miter Saw with Laser reviews

This saw has been a Godsend. We couldn ‘ t afford to buy everyone on our Christmas list gifts last year, so we decided that I would make picture frames for them. I had some money saved up for a new saw, so I jumped on this one when it was lower than it usually is, to help get the project done in a timely manner ( I had over 15 frames to do in less than a month, which isn ‘ t much time with a newborn in the house! )

Straight out of the box, the saw makes accurate cuts, and the included blade gives an excellent cut, although with a small amount of tearout.

I purchased this saw today after weeks of shopping around. It seems that all of the contractors I spoke with have the 8 inch Hitachi slider and swear by it. I was looking for a bit more capacity but with the same reliability, accuracy and the advantage of a laser guide. This saw is extremely well made and accurate out of the box. While it has a bit more plastic than it ‘ s 8 ” counterpart it is still made like a tank at less weight than the competition ( 44lbs I believe ). The slide, bevel and miter functions are all smooth and the preset angles are easy to set but not to stiff that they don ‘ t allow you to set angles close to the presets without accidentally ” clicking ” into them when tightenned. The fence seems to be improved over previous models and is a bit higher. It will also flip out for longer workpieces. As for the laser guide, I was skeptical of their accuacy but I couldn ‘ t be more wrong. It was dead on out of the box and easily adustable depending on you personal preferences. Some people seem to have complained that the laser line disappears as soon as the blade is lowered, but it is so accurate that it doesn ‘ t matter. Once you match your laser to your line, there is no need to follow it through the actual cut.

Order the saw on Friday and got it on Tuesday! The saw works very smoothly. Recommend replacing the stock blade right away. I put an eighty tooth unit on mine and it cuts smooth as glass. The tool has already saved me several hours on the job. A laser on both sides of the blade would be nice but none of the sliding compounds that I am aware of have that feature.Reviews of Hitachi C10FSH 10-Inch Sliding Compound Miter Saw with Laser

Great saw, well built, smooth, very capable. BUT WATCH OUT for the accessories that Amazon says go with this saw. I made the mistake of ordering the stand that this site said goes with this saw and it is absolutely, totally incompatible with this saw. Since I live bascially in the middle of nowhere it is very hard to return the stand so I will make extensive modifications to make it work but it would have been easier ( and cheaper ) to just build a stand from scratch.

Purchased this saw 3 years ago and was really impressed with its accuracy. This saw does everything everyone says, but after using it for a couple years I found some things I believe could be better. First off, I always cut my crown upside down, and the side rails are too short. I took them off and made my own side rails out of plywood. this is my second c10fsh in 3 years cause my first got stolen, but on both of them the safety trigger broke within their first year. First off I hate these safety triggers, they are a good idea for the do it yourselfer, but not for a pro who does this everyday. I need my tools to be reliable, so I stuffed a rock in the safety trigger whole and ducked taped it and have not had a problem with it for 2 years now. The laser is useless. I don ‘ t work in a shop, I go to peoples houses and set my gear up in their driveway, and you cannot see the laser during the day. I don ‘ t even know if its accurate or not cause I cant see it. all in all it is a very good saw, if it wasn ‘ t i wouldn ‘ t have bought it a second time.Reviews of Hitachi C10FSH 10-Inch Sliding Compound Miter Saw with Laser

I ‘ ve owned this saw for over 2 years and use it almost daily. It works great, I ‘ m glad I bought it. The long throw makes building bookcases and other shallow cabinets easier.

I have 3 complaints though: 1 ) The handle is vertical, not uniform, and is for right – handed use ( its difficult to use the trigger release with the left hand ); 2 ) This saw is screaming for a dual laser setup and I have yet to find one ( haven ‘ t looked recently though ); & 3 ) Its extremely difficult to set it up for a perfect cut, especially at the far end of it slide ( but that is a trivial complaint for sliding miter saws ).

But none of these are deal – breakers for me and I would buy it again.Reviews of Hitachi C10FSH 10-Inch Sliding Compound Miter Saw with Laser
